Delhi Govt To Start Allotment of 10,000 Low-cost Flats

Delhi government will soon start allotment process of nearly 10,000 low-cost flats to slum dwellers in the city.

Industries Minister Ramakant Goswami today said the government’s infrastructure agency Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has completed construction of 9,660 houses which will soon be handed over to Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) for allottment.

The DUSIB had also constructed a total of 1,024 low-cost dwelling units in Dwarka.

Earlier, Goswami inspected the flats at Bawana industrial area and later held a meeting with top officials of various agencies including DSIIDC, MCD, Delhi Jal Board and PWD.

Goswami also directed MCD officials repair the roads connecting Bawana with other areas within two months.

To ensure better connectivity, he also directed Delhi Transport Corporation to examine frequency of buses to and fro Bawana to various areas.

The minister also directed DJB officials to ensure proper water supply in the area.
